Hi, I’m Nita—founder of Magnolia Counseling Solutions and a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina and North Carolina. For over 13 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families as they navigate life’s challenges, and I’m continually inspired by the resilience and growth I witness in this work. My path in mental health began as an after-school counselor, supporting middle school students in their emotional and academic development. That early experience sparked a lifelong passion for helping people—especially during seasons of transition and uncertainty.
I went on to earn a Master’s in Counselor Education from The Citadel Graduate College, with a focus on Secondary Education, and eventually expanded my practice to work with individuals across the lifespan. Today, I take a holistic, compassionate approach to therapy—meeting you where you are and helping you reconnect with what brings you peace, purpose, and joy. Whether you're managing anxiety, navigating major life changes, or simply looking for a safe space to feel heard, I’m here to support and empower you every step of the way. At Magnolia, our mission is to provide a nurturing and intuitive experience, where healing feels possible and growth feels within reach—for everyone who walks through our doors.
My name is Allese Renee. I am from Virginia and have traveled to many states. I have always worked in the humanities field. My approach is eclectic, meaning I am familiar with many theories and apply the best approach depending on the client’s needs. Sometimes that might mean narrative therapy one day and psychodynamic another day. I believe the client is the expert of their care and I am an assistant or guide with specialized knowledge. When requested, I tailor my approach with a Christian, non-denominational lens. This means I can pray during or after the session with the client, we reference God regarding the presenting issue and sometimes use Bible passages when applicable.
Because I am a trained art therapist, I can introduce art into the session. If the client is opposed, we are not obligated to do art. Art therapy entails using media such as photography, pastels, clay, metals, words/poetry/books, acting, dancing and other creative expressions. However, there is still processing in that session just as in a talk therapy session. Personally, I love to read, write poetry, create new cooking recipes, and make art. I traveled around the US before landing in South Carolina. And, I love animals!

Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship challenges, I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where healing can begin and growth feels possible. With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I’ve supported individuals, couples, and families through life’s most difficult seasons—helping
them find resilience, clarity, and meaningful change.
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based approaches. I blend Person-Centered Therapy, which honors empathy and deep listening, with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help shift unhelpful thoughts and patterns. My clinical experience spans a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and substance use disorders.
As a doctoral candidate and master's-level clinician, my work has taken me across the country—from homes and schools to hospitals and federal agencies. I've supported adolescents and families, counseled students in elementary and middle schools, helped disabled veterans find new purpose, and worked with patients facing complex medical and psychiatric conditions at the National Institutes of Health.
No matter what you're facing or how unique your story, you can rest assured that I am here to walk alongside you. Together, we’ll explore your strengths, align with your goals, and take steps towards a more fulfilling future
I believe that every person’s story matters—and I’m here to help you uncover strength and healing within your own. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Winthrop University, and I’ve been honored to support individuals on their mental health journeys since 2016.
My experience spans both school-based counseling and work with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, where I’ve had the opportunity to walk alongside individuals facing complex challenges, including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and trauma. These experiences have deepened my belief in the power of connection and the importance of meeting each client with respect, empathy, and curiosity.
I draw from narrative therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients navigate emotional pain, reframe limiting beliefs, and build healthier patterns. Whether you're seeking clarity, healing, or a space to feel heard, I strive to create an accepting, affirming environment where you can do meaningful work and move toward the life you want.
It’s a privilege to support growth and change in my community, and I look forward to helping you take that next step forward—at your own pace, in your own way
